About the Role
The role focuses on installing, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing mechanical equipment such as packing pumps, valves, and pipe systems, as well as welding and operating machine tools that do not require close tolerances. Work begins on May 26, 2026 with a non‑negotiable starting pay of $49.01 per hour. You will assist higher‑classification mechanics by disassembling and assembling equipment, rolling and expanding tubes, and repairing or resealing valves. Additional responsibilities include maintenance and repair of buildings and related equipment. The position requires flexibility to work different shifts and to obtain unescorted nuclear access. • Perform installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment such as packing pumps, valves, and pipe systems. • Disassemble and assemble equipment, roll and expand tubes, and repair or reseal valves. • Conduct maintenance and repair of buildings and related equipment. • Work various shifts and obtain unescorted nuclear access.

What You Bring
Candidates must hold a high school diploma and pass pre‑employment testing. Required qualifications include the ability to work varied shifts and to receive unescorted nuclear access. Applicants must also possess either an associate degree in a technical field, at least two years of related mechanical military experience, or a minimum of two years as a journeyperson pipefitter, boilermaker, or millwright in industrial settings. Equivalent journeyperson experience in the same trades is also acceptable. • High school diploma and successful completion of pre‑employment testing required. • Must have either an associate degree in a technical field, ≥2 years mechanical military experience, or ≥2 years journeyperson experience as a pipefitter, boilermaker, or millwright.
