About the Role

The Sorter role ensures proper placement and sorting of materials on the conveyor line. Responsibilities include inspecting, sorting, feeding, and maintaining a clean work area while following standard operating procedures. The position requires reporting safety concerns and attending regular safety meetings. • Inspect materials and sort items by type, size, condition, color, or paper grade. • Remove contaminants from paper or floor. • Stack boxes and skids; dump boxes and totes of material. • Feed wastepaper or other material onto the conveyor. • Clean the conveyor and surrounding sorting line and keep the work area tidy. • Monitor machine start‑up and ensure proper operation at a moderate speed. • Follow standard operating procedures for equipment operation and maintenance. • Report safety hazards and equipment malfunctions. • Attend weekly or monthly safety and operations meetings. • Work in indoor garage/shop or outdoor conditions, including inclement weather, heat, and humidity.
