About the Role

The Substation Coordinator/EIT role supports the preparation and coordination of engineering designs for low, medium, and high‑voltage substations, collaborating with CAD drafters, designers, and other engineering disciplines to deliver innovative infrastructure solutions. • Prepare engineering drawings, calculations, analyses, reports and designs for electrical substations (Low, Medium and High Voltage). • Prepare calculations, design sketches and redline drawings. • Work with Electrical CAD Drafters and Designers to develop drawings meeting national design standards, safety codes, and project specifications. • Develop design deliverables such as one‑line diagrams, protection and control schematics, wiring diagrams, SCADA schemes, communications plans, substation layouts, material lists, conduit and cable sizing/routing, AC and DC system calculations, and grounding plans. • Review work of Electrical CAD Drafters and Designers and coordinate design with other engineering disciplines as needed. • Exercise judgment in evaluating, selecting, and modifying electrical engineering techniques and procedures. • Make decisions on significant design and engineering features as needed.

What You Bring

• Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate (or placement into Design Coordinator role with expectation to obtain EIT). • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with a Power emphasis. • Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm. • 2+ years designing electrical lighting, power, and systems for utility projects. • Experience or interest in sustainable design/LEED (desired but not required). • Bachelor's degree in Engineering. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
