About the Role

The Structures Technician role supports Sub‑Activity Management and Asset Visibility Services, offering system‑level expertise and field support for facility condition assessments, inventory accuracy, and sustainment requirements development. This position directly contributes to the BIAT function and aids SMS BUILDER data quality, assessment completeness, and maintenance strategy development. In this position, the technician will aid Sub‑AMP‑level asset visibility, conduct and document condition assessments using SMS BUILDER standards, maintain and correct inventory records, perform data‑quality tasks, and support quarterly working groups on risk‑based maintenance strategies. Coordination with Operations Flight shops and subject‑matter experts ensures proper planning and prioritization, while reconciliation of RP/RPIE discrepancies and provision of inputs to AMP managers support execution planning and investment recommendations. • Support Sub‑AMP‑level asset visibility and requirements development for structural portfolios • Conduct and document condition assessments using SMS BUILDER standards and the 9‑point rating method • Assist with inventory creation, updates, and discrepancy correction, including facilities lacking RPUIDs • Execute data‑quality tasks such as supporting QA‑15A/QA‑15B discrepancy resolution workflows • Support quarterly Sub‑AMP working groups with risk‑based maintenance strategy input and meeting minutes • Coordinate with Operations Flight shops and SMEs to align PM/CM planning and prioritize work tasks • Reconcile RP/RPIE inventory discrepancies between SMS and base records • Provide system‑level inputs to AMP Managers for IPL, execution planning, and investment recommendations

What You Bring

Candidates must be U.S. citizens with a valid driver’s license, passport (minimum 13 months validity and six blank visa pages), and a current U.S. Secret security clearance, and must be fluent in English. Required qualifications include meeting CENTCOM MOD‑15 theater requirements, Air Force minimum 5‑level (or equivalent) with five or more years of structures‑trade experience, completion of AFIT courses WENG 200, WENG 440, WMGT 231, and WMGT 417, and demonstrated ability to execute inspections and document findings accurately. Preferred qualifications are prior BUILDER assessor experience, familiarity with Uniformat II/NISTIR 6389 terminology, experience supporting BIAT‑style assessment teams, and background in OCONUS/expeditionary base environments. • U.S. citizen with valid driver’s license, passport (13 months validity, 6 blank visa pages), and current Secret clearance • Fluent in English and meet CENTCOM MOD‑15 theater requirements • Air Force minimum 5‑level (or equivalent) with 5+ years structures‑trade experience and required AFIT courses • Experience executing inspections/assessments and accurately documenting findings • Ability to obtain/maintain access for role‑based SMS activities (assessor/read‑only) • Prior BUILDER assessor experience and familiarity with Uniformat II/NISTIR 6389 terminology • Experience supporting BIAT‑style assessment teams and meeting production targets • Experience in OCONUS/expeditionary base environments
