About the Role
The Polymer Center Maintenance Technician A ensures that all equipment repairs and maintenance are performed in compliance with Republic Services' safety standards and applicable federal and state regulations. This role also handles repairs on sorting, grinding, and washing equipment to maximize safe and productive operations, while diagnosing complex electrical issues, coaching other technicians, and scheduling work for the team to reduce lost productivity. • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on polymer center equipment, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. • Diagnose complex electromechanical failures, coach technicians, and schedule repair work for the team. • Complete work order documentation, field service reports, and daily consumables tracking in the asset management system. • Install, troubleshoot, and program simple PLC instructions to improve plant monitoring and performance. • Ensure all activities comply with company safety policies, federal and state regulations.

What You Bring
The technician maintains advanced knowledge of all mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems used in the Polymer Center, performing preventive and corrective maintenance on conveyors, screens, reducers, balers, optical sorters, air drum separators, compactors, magnets, dust collectors, and other bulk material handling equipment. Responsibilities include completing work orders, field service reports, consumables logs, overhauling or replacing machine components, troubleshooting complex electromechanical equipment, and reading or programming simple PLC instructions as needed. Preferred qualifications include the ability to quickly learn new industrial equipment, welding or fabrication skills, PLC programming experience, a valid driver’s license, and a mechanical, electrical, or trade school certificate. Minimum qualifications require at least three years of maintenance and repair experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment. • Meet minimum 3 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment and hold a valid driver’s license. • Possess welding/fabrication skills and PLC programming experience; mechanical, electrical, or trade school certification preferred.
