About the Role
The Assistant Community Manager supports the Community Manager in daily operations and financial functions of an affordable housing community. Responsibilities include rent collection, cash‑flow optimization, personnel supervision, leasing, maintenance, administration, and risk management, while ensuring compliance with company policies, safety standards, and fair‑housing regulations in the manager’s absence. • Post and reconcile resident payments, issue late notices, and manage evictions to maintain cash flow. • Perform end‑of‑month closing, reporting, and ensure accurate resident file audits. • Screen, hire, train, coach and supervise onsite staff, fostering compliance and performance. • Implement leasing strategies, market properties, show units, and process lease documentation. • Resolve resident complaints, develop retention programs, and coordinate resident events. • Oversee maintenance requests, conduct property inspections, and ensure timely repairs. • Manage vendor relationships, obtain bids, and control operating expenses. • Uphold Fair Housing, OSHA and company policies to mitigate liability risks.

What You Bring
Candidates should have at least one year of experience with affordable‑housing programs such as LIHTC, HUD Section 8, or USDA Rural Development, and possess a high school diploma (a bachelor’s degree is preferred). Basic computer skills, knowledge of Fair Housing and OSHA requirements, and the ability to operate onsite software are required.

Benefits
The role involves standing, walking, lifting up to 25 lb, ladder use, and occasional overtime, weekend or night work. Compensation ranges from $18 to $20 per hour and includes a comprehensive benefits package featuring medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, 401(k) matching, performance bonuses, paid sick days and company holidays.
