About the Role
The Assistant Project Manager role is based in downtown Los Angeles and supports the Education sector, collaborating with project, program, and client leaders to deliver K‑12 and higher‑education facilities. The position involves coordinating pre‑construction, bid, award, and close‑out activities while ensuring projects align with scope, budget, and schedule. • Assist in coordination and oversight of pre‑construction, bid/award, and project close‑out phases. • Validate site conditions and develop project scope alongside the Planning and Development Project Manager. • Draft concept drawings to visualize project scope and communicate design intent. • Review design team feedback, recommend scope adjustments, and prepare status reports for management. • Liaise with public, utility, and government agencies to satisfy federal and state requirements. • Monitor project budgets and ensure financial data reflects current project progress. • Track overall project planning, design, and construction progress to maintain scope compliance. • Support contract development, bid planning, and procurement processes. • Develop and suggest improvements to project or program policy guidelines and procedures. • Recommend new strategies and developments to achieve program objectives. • Collaborate with technical staff to estimate building costs and assess change orders. • Maintain facility inventory maps using AutoCAD software. • Utilize effective written and oral communication with internal and external stakeholders. • Interpret blueprints and construction documents to assess project impact. • Build relationships with peers, leaders, and clients while pursuing continuous self‑development.

What You Bring
• Proficient in MS Office, Bluebeam, Adobe, AutoCAD, Revit, and ArcGIS. • Prioritize multiple tasks, demonstrate sound judgment, and hold self accountable to goals. • Graduate with a bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, or construction management (or CCM credential). • Minimum five years of full‑time professional experience in project/construction management, preferably in educational facilities or public‑agency projects. • Experience with safety protocols, Cal OSHA requirements, and environmental procedures.
