About the Role

The intern will assist engineering teams with research, design efforts, and the preparation of engineering drawings and documentation. Specific tasks include performing electrical load and voltage‑drop analyses, contributing to power‑system calculations, and supporting the development of safe, efficient, and sustainable solutions. Additional duties may be assigned as needed. • Conduct electrical load and voltage‑drop analyses for project designs. • Prepare engineering drawings and documentation under supervision. • Perform basic engineering calculations and organize data for reports. • Engage with student engineering societies such as IEEE or ITES. • Accept direction from peers and supervisors while completing assigned tasks.

What You Bring

Applicants must be currently enrolled in an accredited post‑secondary engineering program, pursuing a degree in Electrical or Power Systems Engineering, and hold a high school diploma or GED. Required skills include strong written and verbal communication, proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, and the ability to perform basic engineering calculations and organize information for reports. Candidates must be able to follow direction from peers and supervisors. The preferred candidate has completed at least two years of post‑secondary education, participates in student organizations such as IEEE or ITES, and demonstrates a strong interest in transit and transportation infrastructure. Familiarity with CAD tools such as MicroStation, Revit, or AutoCAD is a plus. Demonstrated interest in electric‑vehicle charging technologies is also valued. • Use Microsoft Office Suite efficiently for communication and documentation. • Apply knowledge of CAD tools (MicroStation, Revit, AutoCAD) when needed.

Salary estimates for the Los Angeles metro area range from $24.23 to $36.34 per hour, with a nationwide range of $21.07 to $39.50.
