About the Role

The Driver Helper works directly with a Route Driver to collect waste and recyclable materials from residential and commercial customers, loading containers manually or with mechanical equipment and assisting with vehicle maneuvers. • Follow WM safety policies, OSHA regulations, and all applicable laws. • Report unsafe conditions or service issues promptly to the Operations Manager or Dispatch. • Attend all required training, briefings, and meetings as directed. • Load and empty residential or commercial containers into the truck, using hoisting devices when needed. • Assist the driver with backing maneuvers and other vehicle operations on the route. • Communicate customer requests, service interruptions, or hazardous conditions to Operations Manager or Dispatch. • Perform assigned duties as scheduled and support other drivers to meet customer needs. • Coordinate eye, hand, and foot movements while performing job duties. • Participate in a 401(k) plan with company match and a stock purchase program.
