About the Role

The Sr. Technician – Security will work with project managers and sales teams to interpret and execute installation blueprints and bills of materials, ensuring installations meet client expectations. The role requires the ability to adapt plans, find alternative solutions, and deliver high‑quality results while maintaining safety and professionalism. • Install and service electronic security systems, including access control, CCTV, and intrusion alarms. • Perform pre-wiring, installation, programming, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of security systems. • Prepare and execute acceptance testing plans aligning with contract and client requirements. • Assist in system design and layout planning. • Provide customer training on system usage and respond to technical inquiries. • Build relationships with clients and prospects for future opportunities. • Update project status to managers and maintain complete project documentation. • Lead, support, and mentor junior technicians on site. • Design system layouts and ensure high safety and professionalism standards. • Manage site-level projects and supervise a team of junior technicians as needed. • Work at heights using ladders, scaffolding, lifts, or other equipment. • Perform work in confined spaces when required. • Regularly stand, climb, walk, sit, push, pull, squat, crawl, and stoop; lift up to 50 lb; work at heights over 1.8 m; use power tools.

What You Bring

This position demands regular physical activity, including standing, climbing, lifting up to 50 lb, and working at heights above 1.8 m, as well as occasional work in confined spaces. Travel to local job sites and occasional overnight trips outside the Minneapolis area are required, and technicians are exposed to outdoor weather, moderate noise, and construction equipment. • Hold PLT certification (required). • Minimum 3 years' experience in security systems integration. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record. • Proficient with hand and specialty tools related to the industry. • Able to lift 50 lb consistently and work independently. • Strong interpersonal skills. • Postsecondary training in electronics or equivalent (preferred). • Vendor certification in low‑voltage systems (preferred). • Exposure to outdoor weather, job sites, travel between sites, occasional construction equipment, moderate noise, and confined spaces. • Local travel required; occasional overnight travel outside Minneapolis.

Benefits

Compensation is union‑rated at $44.61 per hour, with a standard Monday‑Friday schedule that may include overtime and on‑call duties.
