About the Role

Essential functions include safely operating the facility in accordance with all applicable regulations, enforcing safety rules, and identifying hazards. The Engineer performs maintenance and repairs on mechanical, plumbing, structural, control, and fire‑life safety systems, keeps HVAC equipment at optimum levels, records readings, and makes adjustments as needed. Additional duties involve monitoring contractor pricing and quality, reviewing service request data to correct recurring problems, responding to customer inquiries, and assisting the site Facility Management team during emergencies. • Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair facility equipment across mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and fire safety systems. • Ensure compliance with government, regulatory, and company safety policies; identify hazards and participate in incident investigations. • Perform routine HVAC maintenance, record readings, and make adjustments to keep equipment at optimum performance. • Monitor and evaluate contractor pricing and work quality; address recurring operational issues from service request data. • Respond promptly to customer inquiries and assist facility management with emergencies such as fire alarms and chemical spills.

The Operating Engineer focuses on operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing facility equipment across all systems. To succeed, the Engineer must demonstrate technical expertise in one craft area—such as electrical, HVAC, or plumbing—and be multi‑skilled in others. Candidates must hold a high‑school diploma or equivalent, at least two years of college or related trade schooling, and a minimum of four years’ experience in an electrician trade or HVAC/refrigeration trade. A valid U.S. driver’s license with a clean driving record is required. This position does not provide visa sponsorship; applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. The Engineer must use appropriate personal protective equipment and follow all safety policies and procedures. A thorough knowledge of building systems, thermodynamics, electrical and mechanical principles, and computer‑controlled equipment is essential, as is proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel. Physical demands include frequent walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, lifting at least 80 lb, and working overhead. Tasks may require navigating large campus‑like settings, climbing stairs and rooftops, using ladders up to 30 ft, and handling a tool bag weighing approximately 20 lb. • Hold a high school diploma (or equivalent) plus at least two years of college or trade schooling and four years of relevant experience in electrician or HVAC trades. • Possess a valid U.S. driver’s license with a clean record and be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. • Demonstrate knowledge of building systems, thermodynamics, electrical/mechanical principles, and computer‑controlled equipment; proficient in Word and Excel. • Ability to perform physical tasks including walking large campuses, climbing ladders up to 30 ft, lifting 80 lb, and working at heights.
