About the Role

The engineer will handle site development engineering and project management for a variety of land‑development projects, including research, cost estimating, permitting, and preparation of bid packages and technical specifications. They will also monitor project progress, budgets, and schedules while collaborating closely with engineers, designers, jurisdictions, contractors, and clients to build strong professional relationships. • Perform site development engineering and project management for land development projects • Conduct research, cost estimating, and prepare permitting and bid packages • Coordinate with jurisdictions, contractors, and internal teams to ensure compliance • Monitor project progress, budgets, and schedules • Manage staff and oversee quality standards • Build and maintain professional relationships with clients and stakeholders

What You Bring

Kimley‑Horn’s Pleasanton office is seeking a Civil Engineer with more than six years of experience to join its Land Development team. This position is onsite and not remote. Candidates must have at least six years of relevant engineering design experience and hold a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or be able to obtain it within twelve months. Experience with site civil design, utilities, drainage, permitting, and proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and storm‑drainage or hydrology modeling tools is essential. • Minimum 6+ years of civil engineering design experience • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license (or ability to obtain within 12 months) • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, storm‑drainage and hydrology modeling software • Experience with site civil design, utilities, drainage, and permitting • Strong task‑management and project‑coordination skills • Ability to produce construction documents and plan sets
