About the Role
The Lead Maintenance Technician role at Cushman & Wakefield involves responding to service calls directed by the Help Desk, Facility Manager, or designated Lead Hand, prioritizing work, and referring major issues for assistance while ensuring tools and equipment are maintained in good condition. The technician follows safety guidelines, completes required reports, and plans maintenance activities according to contractual and regulatory standards, maintaining strong customer relationships and satisfaction. Responsibilities include maintaining and repairing mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and structural systems, conducting monthly visual inspections, coordinating third‑party testing of fire dampers and fans, performing low‑level repairs on kitchen equipment, cool rooms, fire systems, data‑room systems, supporting generator maintenance, and interacting with the Building Management System. • Respond to service calls from Help Desk, Facility Manager, or Lead Hand and prioritize tasks. • Maintain and repair mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and structural systems. • Perform monthly visual inspections and coordinate third‑party testing of fire dampers, fire system interfaces, and exhaust fans. • Conduct low‑level repairs on kitchen equipment, cool rooms, fridges, fire systems, and data‑room infrastructure. • Support monthly generator maintenance and attend third‑party load‑testing with witnessing. • Adjust set points, print reports, and isolate components in Building Management Systems (BMS). • Follow safety guidelines, create work plans, and complete required reports and paperwork on time. • Maintain service tools and equipment, arranging repairs or replacements as needed. • Manage customer relationships to ensure satisfaction with maintenance services.

What You Bring
Required competencies comprise a High School diploma or GED, a 4th/5th Class Power Engineering ticket, BES I and II certifications, at least two years of building operation or stationary engineering experience, a valid driver’s licence, ability to obtain CPIC clearance, flexibility for rotational shifts, and preferably a BC trade qualification; candidates must be mechanically inclined, knowledgeable of work‑protection codes, proficient in MS Office and CMMS, and certified to use aerial work platforms. • Hold a High School diploma or GED and a 4th/5th Class Power Engineering ticket. • Possess BES I and II certifications and at least 2 years of building operation or stationary engineer experience. • Hold a valid driver’s licence and be able to obtain CPIC clearance. • Demonstrate flexibility to work rotational shifts (days, evenings, weekends) and preferably a BC trade qualification. • Exhibit mechanical aptitude, knowledge of work‑protection codes, and ability to perform minor building repairs. • Be an independent self‑starter and effective team player with strong verbal and written communication skills. • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS). • Certified to operate aerial work platform equipment.
