What You Bring

Leeds or Newcastle Office – hybrid role, three days a week in the office. We are seeking an experienced Principal Civil Engineer to lead the planning, design, and delivery of a range of infrastructure projects. This client‑facing position involves preparing high‑quality bids, managing client relations through delivery, project management and close‑out, and overseeing construction and maintenance of critical facilities such as roads, railways, bridges, dams, pipelines, power plants, and sewage systems. You will help grow the UK Transport business by shaping engineering solutions that meet functional, regulatory, and sustainability standards. • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) and be chartered or progressing to chartered status. • Possess 6–10 years of civil engineering experience, including supervising junior engineers for 7–12 months. • Experienced in highway and infrastructure design, including drainage design. • Demonstrated advanced expertise in engineering design, development, testing, and compliance. • Proficient with Highways England/DMRB, Water UK Sewerage guidance, and local authority design standards. • Skilled in Civils 3D, Infodrainage, project scheduling, and business requirements analysis. • Exhibit decision‑making quality, complexity management, accountability, process optimization, effective communication, and planning alignment. • Display focused, persistent, adaptable, confident demeanor and composure under pressure, with empathetic and influential interpersonal style.
