Commercial Driver CDL (B)

About the Role

The Driver – CDL (B) safely operates a collection truck to provide prompt, courteous waste removal services while ensuring the vehicle complies with safety standards and completing daily condition reports to address any defects promptly. • Conduct thorough pre‑ and post‑operation vehicle inspections to verify tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, gauges, and controls. • Operate the collection truck safely along assigned routes, following route sheets and servicing each customer. • Use manual or automatic controls to lift, load, compact, and dispose of waste at designated facilities. • Interact courteously with customers, dispatchers, and co‑workers to ensure timely service. • Identify and tag unsatisfactory waste containers per departmental procedures. • Monitor waste for prohibited materials and clean accidental spills following safety standards. • Clean waste from the packer blade and truck body on each disposal trip. • Complete route/productivity sheets, vehicle condition reports (VCRs), and other required documentation. • Maintain productivity standards and adhere to all safety policies, including participation in the ReSOP program.

• Hold a Class B (or higher) Commercial Driver’s License with an air‑brakes endorsement.
