About the Role
The leader will oversee operations, promote a culture of quality, manage budgets, and coordinate collaboration with other technical and delivery leaders. Responsibilities also include guiding staff development, ensuring effective project execution, and advancing strategic initiatives. The position serves as a bridge between technical teams, clients, and business development efforts. • Develop staff through career planning, hiring justification, utilization management, and performance evaluation. • Review pre‑contract documents, fee proposals, negotiations, and oversee project execution for cross‑sector services. • Manage budgets with focus on billability, training, and overhead, coordinating with the Professional Services Lead. • Lead project reviews evaluating scope, schedule, fee, profitability, and risk management. • Allocate marketing budgets for client development, conference participation, and presentations. • Drive a culture of quality by ensuring documentation and proactive project management with the Project Delivery Lead. • Recognize and promote staff involvement in company‑wide programs and professional associations. • Support recruitment, onboarding, and retention of cross‑sector technical staff. • Provide hands‑on mentoring to align client requirements with technical assignments. • Coordinate cross‑sector initiatives with other business groups and advance strategic plans. • Partner with digital delivery, design, and delivery leaders to shape the Area Business Group design team structure. • Serve as Principal‑in‑Charge, Project Sponsor, or Project Manager on selected projects. • Manage diverse teams, fostering cooperation and a shared vision.

What You Bring
Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, or a related field and at least ten years of relevant experience, along with professional registration. They should demonstrate experience in strategic growth, managing diverse teams, and excellent communication skills. Commitment to HDR’s values, quality improvement, and active participation in the employee‑owned culture is essential. • Demonstrate experience in developing and executing strategic growth initiatives and deep knowledge of HDR services. • Hold a bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field and maintain a professional registration. • Possess at least 10 years of relevant experience and strong communication skills.
