About the Role

In this role you will assist engineer teams with research, development, and design tasks, help prepare engineering drawings and documents, and perform other duties as assigned to support traffic engineering projects. • Support the optimization of traffic signal systems, including signal timing and phasing, signal coordination, transit signal priority and adaptive traffic control systems. • Collaborate with engineers to conduct traffic flow analysis, capacity analysis, and simulation modeling using software such as VISSIM, SYNCHRO, Sidra or HCS. • Contribute to the development of transportation management plans, focusing on improving traffic operations and reducing congestion during construction or special events. • Assist in the design of traffic elements of roadways, such as intersections, traffic signal layouts, pavement markings and signage. • Participate in the collection of traffic data, including traffic volume counts, travel time studies, traffic signal inventories, traffic observations and speed studies. • Assist in the preparation of technical reports, drawings, and presentations summarizing findings, recommendations, and project deliverables.

What You Bring

Candidates must have a High School Diploma or GED and be currently enrolled in an accredited post‑secondary engineering program. You should understand basic engineering, geometric, and algebraic principles, be proficient with Microsoft Office, and be able to perform simple engineering calculations and organize information for drawings and documents. Preferred qualifications include two years of civil engineering coursework, experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation, and a strong interest in transportation and infrastructure. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States, and employment eligibility will be verified through E‑Verify in compliance with the Immigration Reform and Control Act.
