About the Role

As a Planning Coordinator you will support a team of professionals by handling permits, easements, underground locate requirements, quoting processes, Make Ready and invoicing activities, and by ensuring safety and compliance throughout project execution. • Submit and monitor HRM/DOT permits, water, sewer, gas, telecom, environmental and engineering approvals; issue joint use forms and create work orders. • Update customer easements in Property Online, follow outage processes, and verify account, project and task numbers. • Manage underground locate requirements, update work orders with diagrams, return completed forms, and submit cable locates. • Obtain and quote external contractor services (e.g., tree trimming, Grade 1 assessments) and release work at appropriate stages. • Oversee Make Ready and Aliant work processes, including month‑end invoicing to Aliant and CATV companies. • Process and calculate attachment fees, credits, and developer rebates for contributed lines. • Coordinate the quoting process for work orders and ensure accurate pricing. • Observe and enforce Occupational Health and Safety rules for personal and coworker safety. • Provide flexible availability for overtime during peak periods and after‑hour emergency restorations. • Participation in community‑engagement initiatives, mentoring, fundraising‑matching and volunteer programs.

What You Bring

• Hold a Grade XII education or post‑secondary business degree and at least five years of customer‑service/operational experience. • Demonstrate strong mathematical, analytical, and organizational skills with high attention to detail. • Proficient in Maximo, Orcom CIS, Infoview, SharePoint, ViryaNet, Smartsheet, Oracle, Adobe Suite, Property Online, Info‑Excavation, and MS Excel. • Communicate complex information clearly in writing, by phone, and in person while maintaining a positive customer experience. • Knowledge of Aliant work request, joint use, Make Ready, job pricing, and financial calculations for line rebates is preferred. • Experience with NS Power’s distribution line work management processes is an asset.

The role is referenced as 2026‑5044 and will run for eight months, reporting to the Planning Coordinator Supervisor.
