About the Role

As a Community Maintenance Technician, you provide multi-faceted maintenance services to residents and the community, performing daily tasks that protect and enhance asset value. Success requires effective time management, attention to detail, trustworthiness, and pride in workmanship, while delivering excellent customer service to residents, associates, and vendors. You will prepare apartments for occupancy, address resident service requests, and perform repairs on electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other building systems. Additional duties include pool cleaning, grounds upkeep, participation in preventive maintenance, and rotating on-call responsibilities to keep the property meeting Weidner’s quality standards. • Prepare vacant units for occupancy, including painting, drywall repair, and mechanical, plumbing, and electrical work. • Respond promptly to resident service requests each day. • Repair and maintain electrical, plumbing, boiler, hot water heater, HVAC, and appliance systems. • Perform carpentry, drywall, and interior/exterior painting, selecting appropriate paint type, sheen, and color. • Clean pools, monitor chemical balance, and keep required logs per city regulations. • Conduct daily grounds upkeep: trash removal, pet waste cleanup, waste station maintenance, and walkway sweeping. • Execute scheduled preventive maintenance and property improvement tasks. • Participate in the on-call rotation as assigned. • Ensure apartments, common areas, and amenities meet daily quality standards.

What You Bring

Qualified candidates have 1-2 years of maintenance experience, strong mechanical aptitude, and the physical ability to lift 80 lb and move up to 200 lb. Required knowledge includes electrical, plumbing, carpentry, pool, irrigation, and HVAC systems, with certifications such as HVAC, CPO, EPA, or CAMT preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with Yardi or Paycom are advantageous, and candidates must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and pass background and drug testing. • 1-2 years of maintenance experience with strong mechanical aptitude. • Ability to lift 80 lb, carry 200 lb using an appliance dolly, and climb ladders and multiple flights of stairs. • Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, pool, irrigation, HVAC, and building systems. • Desired certifications: HVAC, CPO, EPA, CAMT. • Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with Yardi and Paycom preferred. • Strong communication skills in person, phone, email, and text. • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and background/drug‑test clearance. • Commitment to attendance, uniform standards, and compliance with Fair Housing and company policies.
