About the Role

The Environmental Compliance Specialist is responsible for managing activities related to the facility’s environmental permits, programs, and policies to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies. This role assesses adherence to local, state, and federal environmental regulations, providing guidance to internal customers and solving complex compliance issues. The specialist establishes sustainable compliance programs, completes regulatory reporting, and represents the operation with regulators. In addition to environmental duties, the position serves as Training Coordinator, overseeing client training schedules and maintaining a master calendar to prevent conflicts. The coordinator works closely with Regional Supervisors to plan training sessions and tabletop exercises, handling venue arrangements and resource allocation. After each event, comprehensive after‑action reports are compiled, Situation Manuals are updated, and pre‑planning meetings are facilitated to document objectives and action items. The role also manages the printing, verification, and distribution of Incident Command System (ICS) forms and prepares project fact sheets for internal tracking. • Manage facility environmental permits, programs, and policies to ensure regulatory compliance. • Assess compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations and advise internal customers. • Develop and implement sustainable compliance programs and controls. • Complete and submit regulatory reports and represent the operation with regulators. • Resolve complex compliance issues and seek guidance for highly complex problems. • Oversee and manage client training schedules, maintaining a master calendar and resolving conflicts. • Coordinate training sessions and tabletop exercises with Regional Supervisors, handling venue and resource logistics. • Compile after‑action reports with observations, lessons learned, and actionable recommendations. • Create and update client Situation Manuals to meet regulatory standards and best practices. • Facilitate 5–7 pre‑planning meetings per client, documenting outcomes and action items. • Print, verify, and ship Incident Command System (ICS) forms to designated training locations. • Prepare project fact sheets with case numbers, identifiers, and purchase orders for tracking.

The compensation range for this role is $74,500 to $102,400, varying by locality, and includes eligibility for a bonus plan.
