About the Role
The Cleaner works full‑time on the first shift, Thursday through Monday from 9 am to 6 pm, with Tuesdays and Wednesdays off. Reporting to the Custodial Manager or Supervisor, the role involves performing a variety of custodial duties for C&W Services in accordance with the company’s established standards, instructions, and procedures. Daily responsibilities include sweeping, mopping, and washing floors and other interior surfaces, using both manual methods and commercial floor‑buffer and shampoo machines. The Cleaner vacuums rugs in offices and public areas, spot‑cleans and shampoos rugs as directed, and dusts furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, door trim, light fixtures, and other horizontal surfaces, including periodic high‑dusting. Interior windows, glass, and trim are washed, and interior walls are spot‑cleaned as needed. Restroom maintenance involves cleaning bathrooms, restocking paper supplies, damp‑wiping glass surfaces, emptying waste baskets, servicing soap and toilet‑paper dispensers, dusting sills, cleaning tile walls, shelves, stall partitions, and sweeping, mopping, and scrubbing floors. The Cleaner monitors for defects such as clogged urinals or non‑functioning lights and reports them to supervisors. Building trash is collected daily, placed in approved containers, and moved to designated collection areas; liners in waste baskets and trash containers are replaced according to specifications. When directed, the Cleaner sweeps or shovels snow from steps, walkways, and sidewalks, and performs periodic tasks such as high‑dusting, leather and wood surface polishing, and wall washing. • Sweep, mop, and wash floors and other interior surfaces using manual and commercial equipment. • Vacuum rugs, spot‑clean, and shampoo as directed. • Dust and clean furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, door trim, light fixtures, and perform high‑dusting. • Wash interior windows, glass, trim, and spot‑clean walls as needed. • Maintain restrooms: restock supplies, wipe surfaces, empty waste, and report defects. • Collect and dispose of building trash, replace liners, and move containers to designated areas. • Sweep or shovel snow from entrances, walkways, and sidewalks when required. • Perform periodic tasks such as leather/wood polishing, wall washing, and high‑dusting. • Operate cleaning tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
