About the Role

The position involves designing, developing, and deploying cloud‑based and desktop software that provides advanced geospatial analytics and modeling capabilities. You will work in an Agile environment, translate requirements into scalable designs, and apply water‑resources engineering concepts such as flood modeling and mapping. Interaction with civil engineers, GIS specialists, and project managers is essential to delivering high‑value solutions. • Design, code, test, debug, document, and deploy software in an Agile environment. • Build cloud‑ and desktop‑based geospatial, analytical, and modeling applications. • Translate business and system requirements into scalable, maintainable designs. • Apply water‑resources engineering concepts, including flood modeling and mapping workflows. • Develop automated unit, integration, and functional tests to ensure long‑term code quality. • Collaborate with civil engineers, GIS specialists, and project managers to define technical approaches. • Participate in design and code reviews and continuously improve development practices.

What You Bring

The role is classified as hybrid work and reports to the Water business line of AECOM Technical Services Inc. Compensation is projected between $115,000 and $130,000 annually, based on location and qualifications. U.S. citizenship is required; sponsorship and relocation are not available. • Minimum: BS in Computer Science, 4+ years software development, proficiency in C#/C++/C, SQL Server experience, AWS/Azure deployment, Git version control, strong OOP knowledge, U.S. citizenship. • Preferred: MS degree, cloud‑native architecture expertise, Python for automation, DevOps CI/CD pipelines, GIS SDK experience, hydrologic/hydraulic engineering background, Docker/Kubernetes container orchestration, AI/ML integration, .NET Core development, WPF/XAML UI development.
