Millwright Helper I (No Per Diem)
Assist in installing, aligning, and maintaining industrial machinery per blueprints.
Job Highlights
About the Role
• Read and interpret blueprints, layout plans, vendor manuals, and schematics to determine work procedures. • Dismantle machines using hand tools such as hammers, wrenches, and crowbars. • Move machinery and equipment with hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks. • Assemble and install equipment (e.g., shaffing, conveyors, tram rails) using cranes, hand tools, and power tools. • Construct foundations for machines using wood, cement, steel, and hand tools. • Align machines and equipment using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, plumb bobs, and optical/laser methods. • Fasten machines to foundations or structures by bolting, welding, or riveting with hand and power tools. • Operate engine lathe to grind, file, and turn parts to dimensional specifications. • Install and modify robot programs using a teach pendant. • Use transit and level for equipment setting. • Load, transport, and unload materials, tools, equipment, and supplies. • Perform lubricating maintenance, cleaning, and repair of tools, machines, and equipment. • Observe and comply with all safety and project rules; perform other duties as required. • Apply shop mathematics to solve problems. • Follow logical step‑by‑step procedures. • Plan work and select proper tools. • Compare size, shape, and form of lines, figures, and objects. • Visualize objects in three dimensions from plans and drawings. • Make decisions based on measurable criteria. • Operate machinery. • Follow instructions and pre‑established guidelines.

What You Bring
The Millwright Helper I position is a long‑term maintenance role with work hours Monday‑Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM. Candidates must pass a pre‑employment physical and background check. Helpers in this role (0‑42 months experience) should have at least six months of documented field experience in their craft and be able to read and interpret instructions and documentation. Responsibilities include installing machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, and other drawings. The scope of duties varies with experience level and assigned job step. • May require a high school diploma or equivalent, plus prior experience. • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the field. • Work under immediate supervision; limited independent judgment.
