Job Highlights
About the Role
The incumbent will carry out a range of laboratory procedures, including precise measurements, routine quantitative and qualitative analyses, and the calculation of test results. They will evaluate physical and chemical characteristics of switchgear components, operate both standard and industry‑specific equipment, and maintain comprehensive test records. • Execute high‑voltage, partial‑discharge, and routine switchgear tests in a laboratory setting. • Perform measurements, quantitative and qualitative analyses, and document all test results. • Interpret data against IEC and other applicable standards; maintain equipment calibration certificates. • Independently wire and verify interlocks in local control cubicles. • Supervise a small testing team and coordinate with production, stores, packing, and marketing. • Apply 5S and Kaizen practices and manage customer inspection activities. • Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and internal quality guidelines.

What You Bring
A solid understanding of national and international standards such as IEC, as well as the ability to read electrical schematics, is essential. The engineer must trace and resolve both electrical and mechanical faults by consulting documentation and testing data. Hands‑on experience with high‑voltage, partial‑discharge, and routine switchgear testing is required, together with basic knowledge of switchgear products. The role also involves independent wiring of local control cubicles and verification of interlock functions. The candidate will work autonomously while supervising team members, coordinating with production, stores, packing, and marketing functions to meet project timelines. Familiarity with 5S, Kaizen, and customer inspection procedures is expected. Applicants should have 4–6 years of relevant experience, expertise in high‑voltage and partial‑discharge testing (GIS/DTB testing is a plus), and knowledge of functional and interlock verification in low‑voltage control panels. Proficiency in SAP, and fluency in spoken and written English and Hindi are required; the preferred age range is 22–29. • Required: 4–6 years of testing experience, SAP proficiency, fluency in English and Hindi; age 22–29. • Preferred: GIS and DTB testing experience; strong knowledge of switchgear products.
