About the Role

As a Shipboard Material Specialist III, you will handle technical research, requisitioning, stock computation, replenishment, custodial record keeping, and the issue, disposal, redistribution, and tracking of equipment, supplies, and publications. You will troubleshoot problems, use automated hardware and software systems, provide direction and training to personnel, verify administrative data accuracy, and follow established methods, quality standards, and schedules. • Perform technical research, requisitioning, stock computation, replenishment, and custodial record keeping for equipment, supplies, and publications. • Troubleshoot and resolve material management issues using automated hardware and software systems. • Provide direction and training to personnel; verify accuracy of administrative data. • Comply with established methods, quality standards, and time schedules. • Participate in career advancement through professional training and development.

What You Bring

Basic qualifications include a high school diploma, four years of related experience, and completion of the Computer Operator, Basic Military Supply, and Combat Service Support Chief courses (or equivalents). Candidates must have working knowledge of PC information processing, understand logistics functions, be proficient with personal computers and software, and be able to comply with quality standards and timelines. Experience with GCSS‑MC is preferred. • Hold a high school diploma and at least four years of related experience. • Complete Computer Operator, Basic Military Supply, and Combat Service Support Chief courses (or equivalents). • Possess PC and information‑processing knowledge; proficient with personal computers and software. • Preferred experience with GCSS‑MC logistics system.
