About the Role

Partnering with business leaders, HR, subject‑matter experts and other stakeholders, the specialist identifies learning priorities and designs engaging end‑to‑end solutions, producing project plans and managing expectations to deliver high‑quality programs on schedule. They develop workshops, materials, and both in‑person and virtual training sessions focused on professional and leadership skills, while leveraging authoring tools, videos, and hybrid formats to create eLearning experiences for diverse audiences. The specialist defines measurement approaches, tracks participation, completion, evaluation scores and performance outcomes, and uses data to recommend improvements. They create communication content to promote programs, support continuous improvement of onboarding and other learning assets, administer the Learning Management System, manage vendor relationships, ensure compliance with policies and regulations, and champion a culture of ongoing growth. • Consult with leaders, HR, and SMEs to identify learning priorities. • Design end‑to‑end learning solutions and create detailed project plans. • Develop workshops, training materials, and virtual/in‑person sessions on professional and leadership skills. • Leverage authoring tools, videos, and hybrid formats to produce eLearning content. • Define and implement measurement strategies to evaluate usage, effectiveness, and impact. • Track and report L&D metrics such as participation, completion rates, evaluations, and performance outcomes. • Conduct regular program evaluations and recommend improvements. • Create communication assets to promote L&D initiatives and foster a learning culture. • Support continuous improvement of onboarding and other learning programs using feedback and best practices. • Administer the Learning Management System and manage vendor relationships. • Ensure all programs comply with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. • Stay current on industry research, trends, and emerging technologies; advise on technology adoption. • Lead the promotion of the L&D strategy through strong business partnerships.

What You Bring

The Senior Learning & Development (L&D) Specialist drives the execution of AAON’s L&D strategy by creating and managing employee development initiatives that foster a culture of continuous learning across all company locations. The role requires an independently motivated professional with a proven track record of building L&D programs from the ground up, and expertise in adult learning, instructional design, facilitation, and program management. A bachelor’s degree in Business, Education, HR, Organizational Development or a related field is preferred, together with at least eight years of L&D or organizational development experience. Candidates must demonstrate ability to design and launch large‑scale programs, deep knowledge of adult learning principles, strong facilitation and interpersonal skills, independent and ambiguous‑environment work habits, project‑management expertise, and proficiency with LMS platforms and authoring tools. Experience with competency frameworks such as Korn Ferry’s KFLA and leadership development is a plus. • Bachelor’s degree (preferred) and 8+ years L&D or organizational development experience. • Demonstrated success designing and implementing large‑scale learning programs. • Expertise in adult learning principles, instructional design, and varied training methodologies. • Strong facilitation, communication, and stakeholder‑engagement skills. • Ability to work independently, manage ambiguity, and meet competing deadlines. • Proven project‑management capability managing multiple initiatives simultaneously. • Proficiency with LMS platforms, e‑learning authoring tools, and competency frameworks (e.g., Korn Ferry KFLA).
