About the Role
Key responsibilities include executing on‑site maintenance under annual contracts, providing expert support to NMRC staff, supervising maintenance checklists, troubleshooting failures, coordinating with the telecom team and OEM (Belden) for critical issue resolution, analysing logs, applying patches, documenting activities, adhering to safety procedures, and delivering 24 × 7 shift and emergency support. • Execute on‑site maintenance activities per contractual KPIs and system checklists. • Provide expert‑level support for Data Communication Systems (DCS) to NMRC staff, including troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis. • Coordinate with internal telecom team and OEM (Belden) to resolve critical issues and apply patches/updates. • Analyse switch and NMS logs, prepare failure reports, and ensure proper documentation. • Perform 24 × 7 shift and emergency support, including night‑time telephonic assistance. • Monitor daily maintenance performance and deliver technical reports to the client. • Manage stock availability and activate repair processes for DCS equipment. • Apply safety permits and conduct safety checks after maintenance tasks.

What You Bring
Hitachi Rail is seeking a self‑motivated Senior Wayside & On‑Board Service Engineer for the DCS subsystem. The role involves a mix of administrative and strategic tasks, requiring strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and problem‑solving abilities, and is based at Metro project sites with potential relocation between locations. Candidates should have at least five years of experience (degree) or seven years (diploma) in Metro/railway DCS signalling, with hands‑on knowledge of telecom equipment, power supplies, large‑scale communication networks, and NMS systems. A degree or diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science, or Instrumentation Engineering and strong client‑facing, written and verbal communication skills are required. • Possess at least 5 years (degree) or 7 years (diploma) experience in Metro/railway DCS signalling. • Demonstrate strong knowledge of telecom equipment, power supplies, large‑scale communication networks, and NMS. • Hold a degree or diploma in Electrical/Electronics/Computer Science/Instrumentation Engineering. • Exhibit excellent client‑facing, written and verbal communication skills.
