About the Role
The manager will facilitate hazard identification, risk analysis, and management through Safety Committee meetings, oversee daily operations of the Inspection team with cross‑training and optimal resource allocation, and drive continual SMS improvement. They will also communicate with the relevant National Aviation Authority, disseminate safety performance information at Management Reviews, and maintain safety documentation and training programs. Key responsibilities include leading safety risk assessments for new and existing aerospace products and processes, embedding safety considerations throughout design, development, testing, and production, monitoring performance indicators, and ensuring compliance with aviation regulations and best practices. The role requires liaison with regulatory bodies such as the CAA and EASA and preparation of safety cases, hazard logs, and risk assessments. • Lead safety risk assessments for new and existing aerospace products and processes. • Embed safety considerations into design, development, testing, and production phases. • Monitor and analyze safety performance indicators and trends. • Ensure compliance with aviation safety regulations, standards, and best practices. • Liaise with regulatory bodies such as the CAA and EASA. • Prepare and submit safety cases, hazard logs, and risk assessments. • Participate in product and process safety incident and non‑conformance investigations. • Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions. • Maintain accurate safety records and documentation.

What You Bring
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Product and Process Safety Manager to lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of our Safety Management System (SMS) in accordance with UK CAA and EASA requirements. This role is critical in ensuring that our aerospace products and manufacturing processes meet the highest safety standards and acts as the focal point for safety management issues related to product and process, reporting to the plant's Accountable Manager. The position requires a degree in Engineering, Aerospace, Safety Management or a related field, proven experience in aerospace safety management, deep knowledge of CAA/EASA SMS requirements, strong people‑management skills, familiarity with safety tools like hazard logs and risk matrices, and the ability to work with cross‑functional manufacturing teams while adhering to international aviation safety standards. • Hold a degree in Engineering, Aerospace, Safety Management or a related field. • Demonstrated experience in safety management within the aerospace or aviation sector. • In‑depth knowledge of CAA/EASA SMS requirements and regulatory frameworks. • Proven people‑management track record. • Proficiency with safety tools such as hazard logs, safety cases, and risk matrices. • Familiarity with international aviation safety standards (e.g., ICAO Annex 19, CAA Part 145).
