About the Role
As part of the rapidly expanding Front‑end Engineering Delivery team, the Senior Civil Engineer will help lead the delivery of major water projects, including strategic resource options for UK water companies, flood and coastal risk management schemes, and hydropower initiatives, working alongside industry‑recognised experts and key clients such as water companies and the Environment Agency. • Undertake feasibility, concept and outline design studies • Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary design teams • Review design submissions for contract compliance • Perform discipline checks on standard outputs • Interface with clients and other stakeholders • Mentor junior staff and support recruitment and training • Contribute to business development, bids and proposals • Drive technical excellence through digital innovation, best‑practice sharing and robust QA procedures • Ensure compliance with global standards, health, safety, welfare and environmental impact

What You Bring
The successful candidate will be a Chartered civil engineer with strong knowledge of water or wastewater standards, proven experience in developing and checking civil designs, and the ability to communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, clients and junior staff while contributing to business development and technical excellence. • Chartered engineer with relevant technical degree • Solid knowledge of water/wastewater specifications and standards • Experience developing and checking civil engineering designs • Strong communication and team‑leadership skills • Proactive, adaptable and commercially aware • Experience on complex, multi‑disciplinary engineering projects (desirable) • UK/Ireland water market project experience (desirable) • Front‑end major project involvement, flood defence or canals (desirable) • Understanding of CDM designer responsibilities (desirable) • Digital capability (e.g., Civil 3D, GIS, hydraulic modelling) (desirable) • Experience developing low‑carbon solutions (desirable) • Willingness to travel between offices/sites as required (desirable)
