About the Role
In this role you will perform specific laboratory activities, including testing construction materials for various projects, following industry standards and quality‑assurance protocols. You will assist with maintaining lab organization, calibrating equipment, and ensuring compliance with QA/QC initiatives. You will conduct routine soils tests such as Atterberg limits, gradation, moisture content, and unconfined compressive strength, as well as concrete tests that involve sample labeling, curing, temperature monitoring, and breaking specimens. Data collection includes performing calculations, reducing data, and accurately documenting results. ECS supports career development by encouraging participation in internal and external training programs and by providing opportunities to obtain ASTM certifications in soils, concrete, or both. • Perform laboratory testing on construction materials under supervision. • Conduct routine soils tests such as Atterberg limits, gradation, moisture content, and unconfined compressive strength. • Conduct routine concrete tests including sample labeling, curing, temperature monitoring, and specimen breaking. • Maintain lab safety, compliance, equipment calibration, and cleanliness. • Record test results, perform calculations, and document data accurately. • Participate in training and obtain ASTM certifications for soils and/or concrete.

What You Bring
Required qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, the ability to lift at least 50 lb, a valid driver’s license and insurance, and a willingness to obtain and maintain laboratory certifications.
