About the Role
Key responsibilities include client relationship development, strategic account management, business development, and advocacy/representation for municipal transportation clients in the Central Valley (Sacramento, Roseville, Santa Rosa). Performance will be measured by opportunity pipeline, booking targets, and effective CRM implementation; the manager will also serve as a subject‑matter expert, maintain external accreditations, and guide a small team of account managers. • Build and maintain strong relationships with municipal clients, city governments, utilities, and public agencies. • Act as the client’s voice within GHD, ensuring priorities and challenges are understood. • Lead and mentor a Client Engagement Team to deliver innovative, municipal‑focused solutions. • Develop and execute 3–5‑year growth plans and annual targets for municipal accounts. • Monitor public‑spending trends, regulatory changes, and infrastructure investments to spot opportunities. • Identify and pursue new business in water, transportation, and urban development sectors. • Collaborate with technical teams to align proposals with client preferences during bids and delivery. • Represent GHD at municipal meetings, conferences, and industry events to promote the brand. • Oversee CRM implementation and maintenance, driving system improvements for better client management. • Serve as subject‑matter expert on technology, policy, regulation, or operational management and maintain external accreditations. • Manage a portfolio of complex customer relationships and guide a small team of account managers. • Develop relationship‑management plans for strategic, complex accounts and facilitate two‑way communication. • Consult with client representatives to clarify medium‑ to long‑term needs and define specifications. • Build a personal network of senior managers, obtain market intelligence, and enhance GHD’s reputation. • Create internal marketing plans and collaborate across departments to strengthen customer focus.

What You Bring
We are seeking Client Service Managers – Transportation, who will act as the bridge between clients, communities, and technical teams, bringing external voices, priorities, and opportunities into the organization. A bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, environmental science, or a related field is required, with a professional engineer license preferred and at least ten years of client‑service experience in the municipal or public sector. • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field. • Professional Engineer license preferred. • Minimum 10 years’ experience in client service or relationship management, preferably with municipal/public sector clients. • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. • Ability to lead cross‑functional teams and influence senior stakeholders. • Proficiency with CRM tools (especially Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite. • Strategic thinker with a client‑centric mindset and solid understanding of municipal operations, governance, and procurement. • Proven track record in business development, market strategy execution, and building relationships across government, industry, and community stakeholders.
