About the Role

Under general supervision, the engineer will collect and analyze data from sites, surveys, GIS maps, and technical documents, assist with capacity analyses, and support the design and timing of traffic signals. Responsibilities also include conducting site investigations, performing traffic counts, generating concise documentation, adhering to safety guidelines, and completing required training while exercising ethical decision‑making. • Perform capacity analyses and assist in road, traffic pattern, and signal design. • Collect and analyze site data, surveys, GIS maps, and technical matrices. • Investigate existing roadways, intersections, signage, and pavement markings for compliance. • Conduct traffic counts and develop traffic engineering studies and plans. • Produce accurate project documentation using electronic systems and field logs. • Follow safety guidelines, site procedures, and WSP’s Code of Conduct.

What You Bring

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline and has 0–1 year of post‑education experience. They possess strong research and analytical abilities, effective communication skills for both technical and non‑technical audiences, and the ability to self‑lead, prioritize tasks, and work both independently and as part of a team. Familiarity with AutoCAD, MicroStation, and standard office software, as well as a commitment to workplace safety, are essential. • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field. • Demonstrate strong research, analytical, and communication skills. • Proficient with AutoCAD, MicroStation, and standard office software. • Work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment. • Preferred: Engineer in Training certification and relevant internship experience.
