About the Role
As a Consulting Associate, Strategic Communications and Stakeholder Engagement in our Columbus, Ohio office, you will help clients communicate with the public, government agencies, and community stakeholders. Your work enables organizations to navigate complex sustainability and regulatory challenges while building transparency, trust, and meaningful engagement. You will support project teams by delivering strategic communications, stakeholder outreach, research, event coordination, and digital engagement services. By gathering insights, crafting clear messages, and connecting with diverse audiences, you will strengthen client relationships and generate new work opportunities, influencing decisions “from boots to boardroom.” • Monitor traditional and social media to identify trends, risks, and insights. • Manage stakeholder databases and prepare related reports. • Summarize research, draft meeting notes, and create communication materials such as fact sheets and newsletters. • Support planning and logistics for public meetings and events. • Assist with task tracking, mail merges, proofreading, online research, and client collateral preparation. • Follow project‑specific health and safety requirements. • Provide cross‑practice support to other ERM teams as needed.

What You Bring
The role requires a BS/BA degree—preferably in public affairs, communications, journalism, political science or a related field—or equivalent experience, strong written and verbal skills (Spanish a plus), and proficiency in Microsoft Office. You must be detail‑oriented, able to manage shifting priorities, work full‑time in a hybrid setting, and travel 2‑4 weeks per year; immigration sponsorship is not available. • Bachelor’s degree in public affairs, communications, journalism, political science or related field (or equivalent experience). • Strong written and verbal communication skills; Spanish proficiency a plus. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with social media platforms. • Detail‑oriented with ability to manage shifting priorities and meet deadlines. • Ability to work full‑time in a hybrid environment with occasional travel (2‑4 weeks per year).
