About the Role

Under general supervision, the Quality Inspector applies technical skills to assess whether materials, equipment, and installations meet Wanzek or client specifications. The role involves inspecting various project activities, generating condition reports, notifying management of significant issues, and completing documentation to confirm satisfactory completion of inspections or tests. The inspector promotes and follows all company safety policies while ensuring the quality of daily construction work on large‑scale wind, solar, and industrial projects, including roads, excavations, concrete, substations, transmission lines, solar racking, PV installation, underground utilities, wind turbine installation, steel erection, welding, piping, valves, pumps, compressors, and other mechanical and electrical equipment. Responsibilities include planning and conducting daily activities in an organized manner, recording QC/QA data, monitoring work scope, performing pre‑construction quality inspections, detecting and addressing deficiencies, and maintaining clear communication with field supervisors and quality staff. • Promote and adhere to all company safety policies. • Inspect daily construction activities across wind, solar, and industrial projects (roads, excavations, concrete, substations, transmission lines, etc.). • Record and report QC/QA data accurately each day. • Conduct pre‑construction quality control inspections to prevent deficiencies. • Identify and address deficiencies promptly. • Act as field representative for QA/QC, coordinating with field supervisors and subcontractors. • Maintain complete inspection records and generate punch lists. • Verify calibration status of measurement and test equipment. • Ensure daily task schedules align with project timelines. • Interact cross‑functionally with craft personnel and team members. • Read and interpret blueprints and technical procedures.

What You Bring

Required education is an associate degree in Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or a related field, or a high school diploma/GED with 1‑3 years of relevant construction experience. Preferred certifications include NDE. The position demands the ability to read and interpret blueprints, strong organizational and time‑management skills, self‑starting attitude, good interpersonal abilities, and proficiency in writing daily reports and documenting project activities. Basic math skills such as calculating area, circumference, volume and applying algebra and geometry are advantageous. • Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or related field (or HS diploma/GED with 1‑3 years experience). • Preferred inspection certifications (e.g., NDE). • Strong organizational, planning, and time‑management skills. • Self‑starter with good interpersonal and communication abilities. • Proficiency in writing daily reports and documenting project activities. • Ability to calculate area, circumference, volume and apply basic algebra/geometry (preferred).
