About the Role
The Environmental Services (ES) Field Technician I works under close supervision, following detailed work instructions and applying basic judgment to resolve routine issues. The role includes troubleshooting basic problems and identifying deviations from accepted practices, as well as performing operational functions related to emergency response, hazardous and non‑hazardous spill cleanup, and hazmat decontamination. Typical duties involve tank cleaning, oil spill remediation, drum handling, decontamination, sweeping, shoveling, high‑pressure washing, and other remedial activities performed in confined spaces such as manholes. The technician also responds to customer spills and emergencies during both normal business hours and after‑hours, maintains equipment and worksites, and ensures all tasks are carried out safely in compliance with relevant policies and regulations.

What You Bring
Preferred qualifications include the ability to read, write, and comprehend operational, technical, process, safety, and quality documents, as well as knowledge of chemicals and safety data sheets. Candidates should demonstrate a positive attitude, mental resilience, attention to detail, proficiency with tablet/PC and hand tools, and the confidence to report unsafe conditions. A current confined‑space entry certificate (or the ability to obtain one) and a valid driver’s license are also preferred. Minimum qualifications require 0‑2 years of relevant experience, familiarity with light and heavy equipment, and the ability to respond to hazardous and non‑hazardous emergencies. Applicants must be able to pass a 40‑hour HAZWOPER training program upon hire and safely lift objects up to 50 lb.
