About the Role

The role involves determining system needs and installing software solutions that meet business requirements, while also providing input on purchasing decisions. Responsibilities include developing queries, reports, and dashboards for data analysis, designing data streaming pipelines to multiple destinations, and solving complex application and system administration problems. The engineer will manage system security, perform integration functions, train users across the organization, and configure AWS and Azure environments to ensure smooth data flow. • Determine system needs and install software solutions aligned with business requirements. • Develop queries, reports, and dashboards for data analysis and visualization. • Design and implement data streaming pipelines to multiple destinations. • Solve complex application and system administration problems. • Manage system security, integration, and performance monitoring. • Train users across the organization on system usage. • Configure and maintain AWS and Azure environments for data flow. • Collaborate with DevOps to monitor infrastructure and improve observability. • Troubleshoot and resolve issues promptly. • Stay current on system software and observability trends and recommend improvements. • Use Splunk Query Language to build dashboards, reports, and alerts. • Create data pipelines with Cribl or Splunk ingest actions for various data sources. • Administer Cribl/Splunk on AWS/Azure ensuring high service uptime. • Implement event correlation and anomaly detection in Splunk logs. • Integrate Splunk with enterprise tools for business‑critical insights. • Configure Splunk add‑ons and develop custom collection scripts in shell or Python.

What You Bring

Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related field and have at least five years of progressive post‑baccalaureate experience in software or systems engineering. The position requires the ability to work on projects at various, unanticipated sites throughout the U.S., with telecommuting permitted. At least three years of experience is required in each of the following areas: architecting Splunk Cloud for logging, using Splunk Query Language to create dashboards and alerts, building data pipelines with Cribl or Splunk ingest actions, administering these tools on AWS/Azure for high‑uptime services, and leveraging Splunk for event correlation, anomaly detection, and integration with enterprise systems. Additional skills include configuring third‑party Splunk add‑ons and scripting custom data collection in shell or Python.
