About the Role
The Property Accountant will prepare monthly financial statements and reports, balance cash accounts, and reconcile balance‑sheet items while ensuring proper coding of income and expenses. The role also involves supporting cash projections, loan draws, acquisition set‑up, disposition processes, and special projects for the Controller and COO. • Prepare multiple sets of monthly financial statements and client reports. • Balance cash accounts and perform balance‑sheet reconciliations. • Ensure accurate coding of income and expense items and maintain accounting controls. • Support cash projections, distributions, and monthly loan draw requests. • Set up newly acquired properties and assist with disposition and sale processes. • Coordinate bank correspondence, bill payments, and loan servicing. • Book tax entries and collaborate with the Director of Tax and external CPAs. • Execute special projects for the Controller, COO, and management team. • Review and mentor work of other team members as needed.

What You Bring
HPI is seeking a Property Accountant who will provide key financial information by preparing multiple sets of financial statements and reconciling accounts. This essential role supports the accounting department and works closely with clients and the Property Management Division. Candidates should have 3‑5 years of accounting experience, preferably in real‑estate accounting, with a BBA in Accounting or higher and a CPA license preferred. Proficiency in GAAP, internal controls, and property‑management software such as Yardi, MRI, or Skyline, as well as strong analytical, communication, and multitasking skills, is required. • 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in real‑estate accounting. • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (BBA) or higher; CPA license preferred. • Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and audit practices. • Proficiency with property‑management software (Yardi, MRI, Skyline) and Microsoft Excel/Word. • Excellent internal and external customer service and communication skills. • Ability to lead project teams, multitask, and think critically.
