About the Role
In this role you will follow direction and refer any exceptions to your supervisor, with a career path that leads to Senior Safety Specialist. You will work autonomously within that framework, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations while collaborating with field leadership and project teams. • Conduct regular walk‑through inspections of construction sites for compliance with laws and company policies. • Perform safety audits, document hazardous conditions, recommend abatement, and track remediation using internal safety management systems. • Deliver project‑specific new‑hire safety orientation and enforce drug‑and‑alcohol policy compliance. • Monitor prime contractor and subcontractor safety programs; attend project meetings to discuss safety matters. • Support field leadership by facilitating safety meetings, committees, and chairing the project safety committee. • Assist in accident investigations, determine root causes, and recommend process changes to prevent recurrence. • Coordinate injured employee care with clinics, ensure timely treatment and return‑to‑work, and compile injury progress reports. • Oversee site safety incentive programs. • Apply advanced safety knowledge to identify complex issues and provide sophisticated abatement solutions. • Use expertise in equipment, regulations, and work processes to make project‑specific safety recommendations. • Conduct trend analysis with safety management tools to identify problem areas and propose mitigation strategies. • Provide guidance and training on basic and intermediate safety topics to new and existing team members. • Support safety leadership during insurance audits. • Manage safety oversight for one large or complex project, or multiple projects.

What You Bring
• Demonstrate accurate, timely work performance and strong verbal and written communication skills. • Proficient in MS Office and intermediate-level company safety software and tools. • Knowledge of federal, state, local, and company safety regulations; ability to recognize hazards and implement corrective measures. • Build collaborative relationships with internal teams and external partners; proficient with required construction technology. • Bachelor’s degree in safety or health field (preferred) or equivalent relevant experience. • Minimum of 2+ years construction safety experience.
