About the Role
In this role you will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining the mechanical and electrical systems of underground mining equipment, as well as commissioning new machines and providing on‑site training to customers. Key duties include inspecting equipment to detect faults, adjusting or replacing defective components to restore original specifications, testing repaired units, and generating accurate time records, technical reports, failure analyses, and parts lists. You will also stay current with industry developments and best technical practices. Health, safety, and environmental responsibilities require strict adherence to safety policies and regulations, performing "Take Five" risk assessments before tasks, reporting unsafe conditions or incidents, maintaining tools and a tidy work area, and wearing the required personal protective equipment while attending safety trainings. • Inspect equipment to identify faults and malfunctions. • Adjust, repair, or replace defective components to meet original specifications. • Test repaired equipment to verify proper operation. • Commission new underground mining equipment and deliver on‑site training. • Complete accurate time sheets, technical reports, failure reports, and parts lists. • Perform "Take Five" risk assessments before each task. • Report unsafe work habits, incidents, and near‑misses. • Maintain hand tools, equipment, and a tidy work area while wearing required PPE. • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues on heavy‑duty mining equipment.

What You Bring
The position requires a diploma or certificate in a mechanical/electrical field or equivalent experience, at least five years of underground mining equipment experience, the ability to read hydraulic and electrical schematics, strong diagnostic and communication skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office, a valid driver’s license, and willingness to travel and work varied shifts. Bilingual ability in French and English and prior experience with Sandvik equipment are assets. • Read and interpret hydraulic and electrical schematics. • Communicate findings clearly in written and verbal form. • Travel across Canada to various mine sites; hold a valid driver’s license.
