About the Role
The HazMat Field Driver/Technician is responsible for the safe transportation of hazardous and non‑hazardous waste streams from various generator sites. The role involves operating straight trucks (box trucks) and tractor‑trailers to perform bulk and containerized waste pickups while complying with all relevant government regulations and company procedures. Drivers operate a range of equipment—including roll‑offs, tankers, gravel trains, and box trucks—to complete less‑than‑truckload (LTL) pickups. They maintain driver documentation such as logbooks, permits, trip reports and waste manifests, ensure correct placarding, load securement, HAZMAT segregation and labeling, and adhere to state weight‑limit laws. Daily duties also include DOT/MOT pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections, customer interaction, material processing, facility housekeeping, and participation in the site safety program.

What You Bring
Preferred candidates possess knowledge of electrical, plumbing, hydraulic and compressor systems, as well as pumps, motors, motor controls, instrumentation and metal fabrication. Proficiency with hand and shop tools, strong attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities are essential. The minimum qualification is a Class B Commercial Driver’s License with hazardous‑material and tanker endorsements, or the ability to obtain these endorsements within 90 days of hire.
