Senior BIM Technician - MEP

About the Role

The role involves managing BIM models for mechanical, electrical and plumbing services using Revit MEP, defining drawing strategies, numbering, and production methods. The incumbent must also prepare design drawings in AutoCAD when required and possess working knowledge of data‑center projects. Responsibilities include setting up BIM models to project standards, creating work sets, and ensuring coordinated service drawings are produced. The position supports the CAD/BIM Manager with cost estimation, scheduling, and resource planning, flagging concerns early and maintaining delivery on agreed timelines. It requires liaison with internal and client‑side model managers, implementation of best‑practice processes, adoption of new technologies, and up‑skilling of the team. The role also includes mentoring junior staff, adhering to QA, document‑control and CDM guidelines, and using WSP India CAD standards. • Manage small to large‑scale BIM models for MEP services using Revit MEP. • Define drawing strategy, type, size, numbering and production methods with project engineers. • Prepare MEP design drawings in AutoCAD based on work priority. • Apply working knowledge of data‑center projects to BIM and design tasks. • Assist CAD/BIM Manager in estimating costs and developing project schedules. • Set up BIM models to project standards and coordinate with client model managers. • Implement process improvements and adopt new technologies across the team. • Create work sets and work‑sharing methodologies within Revit models. • Conduct resource planning, flagging potential concerns to the CAD/BIM Manager. • Produce plant‑room layouts, sections, details and coordinated service drawings. • Develop general arrangement drawings from sketches and engineer inputs. • Ensure all work follows WSP India CAD standards, QA, document‑control and CDM guidelines. • Mentor and coach junior CAD/BIM staff on software functions and best practices. • Deliver project outputs on agreed schedules while maintaining quality standards.
