About the Role

Reporting to the Vice President of Estimating, the Concrete Estimator will use advanced estimating software to produce accurate bid proposals and identify value‑engineering opportunities. The role involves monitoring market trends, material pricing, and labor rates to keep estimates competitive, as well as supporting contract negotiations and project planning. • Estimate concrete work for civil infrastructure projects, including site prep, formwork, reinforcement, and finishing. • Perform quantity takeoffs from drawings and specifications to determine material, labor, and equipment needs. • Analyze vendor and subcontractor quotes for cost efficiency and accuracy. • Prepare and submit detailed bid proposals based on project scope and specifications. • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to refine budgets and scope. • Utilize estimating software such as Bluebeam, HCSS Heavy Bid, PlanSwift, ProEst, and On‑Screen Takeoff. • Identify value‑engineering opportunities to optimize costs without compromising quality. • Monitor market trends, material pricing, and labor rates to maintain competitive estimates. • Assist in contract negotiations and provide recommendations for project planning.

What You Bring

Candidates should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline (a high‑school diploma is the minimum). At least five years of concrete‑focused estimating experience, deep knowledge of mix designs, reinforcement, formwork and curing processes, and proficiency with tools such as ProEst, Bluebeam, and PlanSwift are required. Strong communication, multitasking abilities, and a proven record of delivering accurate estimates on time and within budget are essential. • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred; high‑school diploma minimum. • Minimum of 5 years construction estimating experience with a focus on concrete. • In‑depth knowledge of concrete mix designs, reinforcement, formwork systems, placement methods, and curing processes. • Proficient in reading blueprints and performing accurate material quantity takeoffs. • Skilled in evaluating bids, cost proposals, labor rates, overhead, and profit margins. • Experience with estimating tools such as ProEst, Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or On‑Screen Takeoff. • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with vendors, project managers, and stakeholders. • Ability to manage multiple estimates and meet tight deadlines in a fast‑paced environment. • Proven success in delivering accurate estimates that support on‑time, on‑budget project execution.
