About the Role

The Senior Electrical Estimator role, based in Brisbane or Sydney, provides estimating expertise for tenders and proposals, building estimates for substation and transmission line projects using UGL’s CATS software and ensuring accuracy and timeliness. • Provide accurate cost estimates for materials, subcontractor, and labour pricing. • Collaborate with internal subject matter experts to gather information for tenders. • Maintain regular contact with suppliers and subcontractors to keep pricing and product availability up to date. • Complete final pricing submission for client presentation. • Consult operational departments to verify accuracy of won and completed tenders. • Ensure compliance with record‑keeping requirements for tenders. • Recommend and update procedures and programs to improve the estimating function. • Provide cost advice to current projects. • Deliver technical excellence and create efficient, innovative solutions. • Build an enviable reputation and trust with employees, clients and stakeholders.

What You Bring

Estimators work on a range of projects from brownfield to greenfield sites across Australia, with substation projects valued from $1 million to $80 million and transmission line projects up to $100 million plus, covering various voltage ranges and configurations, and may involve single or multiple sites as well as cost plans at different stages. • Hold a degree or diploma in engineering (desirable). • Have at least five years’ experience in project‑related disciplines, preferably with an electrical trade background. • Experience with Expert Estimation, CCS or CATS software (desirable). • Demonstrate strong negotiation and influencing skills and build effective relationships. • Ability to adapt, learn quickly and apply new skills and knowledge.
