About the Role
• Prepare project specifications for corrosion monitoring, coatings, painting • Solve complex technical problems and deliver practical solutions • Prepare material selection reports, diagrams, and corrosion control philosophies • Develop cathodic protection scope of work, material take‑off, and design calculations • Perform corrosion rate modelling with ECE 5.8 or higher • Produce calculations and technical reports per project requirements • Apply standards like NACE MR0175/ISO 15156 and MR0103/ISO 17495‑1 • Conduct corrosion risk assessments and material & corrosion audits • Define corrosion control and mitigation strategies during material selection • Provide materials and corrosion input for equipment datasheets, piping specs, MTOs, and P&IDs • Contribute to proposals and estimate man‑hours for materials & corrosion deliverables • Stay updated on material science and corrosion engineering trends and integrate new technologies • Collaborate with Materials & Corrosion Engineers and Graduate Engineers • Coordinate with Project & Engineering Managers • Interface with other disciplines (Mechanical, Piping, Process, Pipeline, etc.)

What You Bring
The Senior Materials & Corrosion Engineer will be based at KBR’s Abu Dhabi Operating Center in the UAE, joining a growing team that supports Oil & Gas projects across the Middle East. The role requires proven experience in Front End Engineering Design (FEED), Detailed Engineering Design (DED) and Concept Selection for medium to large scale projects, as well as deep knowledge of common degradation mechanisms and corrosion mitigation strategies. Responsibilities include preparing FEED/Detailed Engineering Design philosophies, material selection reports and diagrams, corrosion control documents, and cathodic protection design calculations. Candidates must hold a BSc/B.Eng. in Materials, Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering or a related field and possess at least 12 years of oil‑ and‑gas engineering experience, including a minimum of six years on FEED/DED projects. Proven experience with Middle‑East projects, especially ADNOC, and familiarity with relevant industry codes and standards such as NACE MR0175/ISO 15156 are essential. • BSc/B.Eng. in Materials, Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent • 12+ years of oil & gas engineering experience • Knowledge of cathodic protection design (advantageous) • Experience with Middle East projects, especially ADNOC • Understanding of Integrity Operating Windows and corrosion monitoring • Strong technical report writing, presentation, communication, and cross‑discipline collaboration • Familiarity with industry codes, standards, and recommended practices • Use of corrosion modelling software tools such as ECE • 12+ years of Oil & Gas industry experience • Minimum 6 years experience in FEED/DED projects
