About the Role
The role involves performing third‑party inspections of electrical, mechanical, architectural, structural, plumbing, and fire‑safety systems, and preparing daily time and Inspection/Field Reports in compliance with ECS policy. The incumbent must demonstrate extensive knowledge of state and local building code regulations, policies, and procedures while managing code‑compliance projects, including plan review, technical support, budget monitoring, proposal preparation, and site‑meeting participation. Additional duties include mentoring other building inspectors, assisting with profit‑and‑loss management, maintaining client relationships, and supporting marketing and business development for code inspection services. • Perform third‑party electrical, mechanical, architectural, structural, plumbing, and fire‑safety building inspections. • Prepare and submit daily time and Inspection/Field Reports in accordance with ECS policy. • Manage code‑compliance projects: review plans, provide technical support, conduct inspections, monitor performance and budgets, prepare proposals, attend site meetings, and resolve technical and administrative issues. • Mentor and train other building inspectors. • Assist with profit‑and‑loss management, client interaction, marketing, and business development for code inspections.

What You Bring
Candidates must have a High School Diploma or GED, with at least five years of experience in code‑compliance inspection or plan review of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire‑protection systems. At minimum one valid ICC certification (B2, M2, P2, E2) is required, and the ability to obtain NC Code Officials Qualification Board Building Inspector Level I certification within 90 days of hire; Level II certification is preferred or must be attainable within the same timeframe. A valid driver’s license is also required for any driving duties on behalf of ECS. • Apply extensive knowledge of state and local building code regulations, policies, and procedures. • Hold a High School Diploma or GED. • Possess 5+ years of experience in code‑compliance inspection or plan review of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire‑protection systems. • Maintain at least one valid ICC certification (B2, M2, P2, E2) and obtain NC Code Officials Qualification Board Building Inspector Level I within 90 days of hire; Level II preferred or obtainable within 90 days. • Hold a valid driver’s license for company‑related driving.
