About the Role

Under direct supervision of a Lead Technician, Maintenance Supervisor, or Maintenance Manager, a Maintenance Technician B repairs and maintains diesel and non‑diesel equipment, including chassis components, vehicle refuse bodies, control systems, hydraulics, electrical, air brake systems, engines, HVAC, suspension, drivetrain, and steering. The role also involves basic tire work such as replacement, rotation, and tread depth checks, while supporting drivers on a single fleet of advanced vehicles. • Perform chassis component repair and maintenance. • Service refuse bodies, including control, hydraulic, electrical, and air/hydraulic brake systems. • Conduct engine repair and maintenance. • Maintain suspension, drivetrain, and steering systems. • Service heating, ventilation, and air‑conditioning components. • Execute line‑maintenance welding and fabrication. • Provide safe road service to return equipment to operation. • Diagnose malfunctions using electronic tools. • Complete required company training programs. • Perform basic tire work such as replacement, rotation, and tread depth checks.

What You Bring

The technician must maintain moderate skill proficiency across these systems, perform preventative and corrective maintenance on‑site and on the road, conduct line‑maintenance welding and fabrication, and safely provide road service to return equipment to operation. Diagnosing malfunctions with electronic tools and completing applicable company training programs are essential parts of the job. Candidates need a basic understanding of work‑order labor standards and at least one year of experience with gasoline and diesel equipment, or must be graduating from an accredited automotive college within three months. ASE certifications, a Commercial Driver’s License, and prior work on Classes 1‑5 light/medium duty and Class 7‑8 heavy‑duty trucks are a plus, while a valid driver’s license is required.
