About the Role
The role involves preventive and corrective maintenance, fault‑finding, diagnostics and repairs, and support for facility and equipment upkeep. After training, the successful candidate will work a rotating 24/7 roster, primarily on the day shift. Responsibilities also include routine on‑site maintenance, basic component changes and operating a wheel lathe. • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on rail fleet and facility equipment. • Diagnose faults, conduct repairs, and operate a wheel lathe. • Follow a rotating 24/7 roster, primarily day shift after training. • Carry out routine on‑site component changes and support facility upkeep. • Work independently, remotely, and assist with facility maintenance as needed.

What You Bring
Applicants must hold an Australian‑recognised Electrical, Mechanical or relevant trade qualification. Experience in rail maintenance, including fault finding, component replacement and remote diagnostics, is preferred. Candidates should be able to work independently and remotely, be willing to assist with facility maintenance, and be capable of working the rotating roster. RIW Card and First Aid training and a forklift licence are advantageous. The ideal candidate is team‑oriented, reliable and punctual, aligns with UGL’s HSE Culture Framework, and demonstrates honesty, inclusiveness and collaboration. • Hold an Australian‑recognized Electrical, Mechanical or related trade qualification. • Possess rail‑maintenance experience, including fault finding and remote diagnostics (preferred). • Maintain RIW Card and First Aid training and a forklift licence (preferred). • Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, teamwork, and adherence to UGL’s HSE culture.
