Asbestos Investigator / Project Manager
Conduct asbestos inspections, sampling, reporting, and project management.

About the Role
• Collect samples as required by various regulatory agencies, complete field data sheets, chain of custody forms, and prepare samples for shipment to laboratory. • Operate and maintain instruments including sampling pumps, calibrators, and various indoor air quality instrumentation. • Prepare technical reports with a focus on detail and quality control. • Perform project oversight and coordination with contractors. • Perform hazardous building material inspections for suspect asbestos-containing materials. • Read project specifications and blueprints/drawings. • Maintain daily logs of activities related to project work. • Perform indoor air quality inspections, water intrusion investigations, and mold assessments. • Interact and communicate with clients, contractors, and regulatory agency representatives.

What You Bring
• Travel throughout the New York tristate area and beyond is expected. • Strong verbal communication skills. • Ability to carry and climb ladders and being able to use hand and power tools. • Adaptability and flexibility to various work schedules and situations related to emergency response scenarios. • Be able to wear a respirator, safety harness and other safety equipment as needed • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent preferred. • Intuitive and creative thinker. Understanding of their surroundings and reason the services are being provided. A consultative demeanor and ability to work with customers/clients and offers solutions when needed. • Must have a valid driver's license and a reliable means of transportation. • Prior experience in various aspects of abatement projects is required. • Must be able to read project specifications and drawings. • NYCDEP Asbestos Investigator license is required. • 3 • 5 years of experience in the hazardous building materials, indoor air quality, and industrial hygiene industry. • The following certifications are a plus: NYSDOL Asbestos Project Monitor/Air Sampling Technician, Management Planner, and Project Designer (Inspector is a requirement for Investigator licensing); NYSDOL Mold Assessor; USEPA Lead Inspector/Risk Assessor, Indoor Air Quality Training, HAZWOPER, OSHA 30, and NYCDOB Scaffold Training.
