About the Role

• Observe on‑site municipal and development infrastructure construction to verify compliance with contract drawings and specifications. • Coordinate and witness required testing activities, ensuring prescribed frequency and standards are met. • Record daily site conditions, activities, field measurements, and work progress. • Provide construction administration services: prepare schedules, liaise with contractors/consultants, attend job meetings, prepare progress payments, minutes, and reports. • Review submittals and shop drawings for compliance. • Ensure workmanship meets contractual requirements and track as‑built markups. • Mentor junior staff by offering technical direction, training recommendations, coaching, and mentoring. • Contribute to Dillon’s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees. • Interpret contract drawings for municipal infrastructure projects. • Operate survey rod and level (asset). • Identify potential technical issues during construction and coordinate corrective actions with the Project Manager. • Provide on‑site contractor direction as needed through the Project Manager. • Maintain organized notes of daily site activities, equipment usage, quantities, and documentation with photos. • Participate in an employee share purchase plan (company is 100% employee‑owned). • Engage in learning and development opportunities such as coaching, mentoring, and internal training. • Utilize the Employee and Family Assistance Program for well‑being support.

What You Bring

Excellent communication and a strong understanding of the construction business are essential for thriving in Dillon’s fast‑paced, dynamic environment. • Hold a diploma in Civil Engineering Technology (asset) and 5‑10 years of related experience. • Proficient in Microsoft Office products. • Hold a valid Canadian driver’s licence. • Experience as a construction observer on large municipal or land development projects and knowledge of municipal/provincial standards, contract administration, and environmental approvals. • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
