The Technician Apprenticeship program trains entry‑level technicians over two years, covering electrical diagnosis, HVAC, wheel end, air system, air brake, and hydraulic inspections, as well as truck preventative maintenance. Apprentices receive hands‑on experience under the supervision of a Fleet Maintenance Supervisor or Manager, performing routine preventive maintenance such as basic tire work, wheel‑end component service, hydraulics, and electrical system diagnostics while applying classroom knowledge. Candidates must commit to the two‑year program, demonstrate logical problem‑solving skills and an interest in engineering, and be flexible to work nights, weekends, or holidays while upholding Republic Services' values of safety, ethics, and respect. Applicants must travel to Dallas for the initial training period and be willing to relocate nationwide after completion; training starts March 23 2026 with paid training, a pay increase upon graduation, and permanent placement in a fleet maintenance shop.
